Where to get Free Legal Agreements? (TOS)
What do fellow webmasters do when it comes to putting legal agreements on their sites, such as:
- Terms of Service - Privacy Policy - Disclamers - IP/Content Ownership Agreements (eg for forums) I can not believe that all webmaster write their own, nor go to a lawyer. So where do people get these from?

Search this forum. I see this question asked quite a bit and I've seen links in the past. Do a search in the Business Help forum for something like "TOS" and see what comes up.

thing2b,
I think you may get a guideline from well established companies which offer services most identical to what you're offering, but you should consult your lawyer to frame your own TOS which should match with the prevailing law of your area and your own business conditions. ![]() |

The TOS varies from the different jurisdiction and countries while chances is more that the TOS of same business is going to match with each others that not simply means to just copy it, if you're going to copy possibility you'll miss most valuable aspect of an important clause of your TOS with your own operating business policy which might put you in trouble if you come across with some unpleasant situation with a customer. So it is advisable to take consultation of your lawyer.
I have seen few TOS just (ditto copy) as even their mistakes are also identical. ![]() |
