Hey,
I was wondering if you guys could tell me your opinion, on what "genre" of sites you think attrackt people moast... Which sites do people like going to, and which sites have moast visitors per day. I know this forum has LOADS of views per day, so that could be one of them. Any suggestions (appart from illegal sites like Warez, Mp3 and stuff)? Thanks a lot! |

By asking that question you probably won't be able to create one. I think the ones that are the most succesful are driven by creative, talented and motivated people with a particular goal in mind. Amazon.com revolutionizes the bookstore and ten thousand sites on the coattails "me too, me too, look: we have books, too!" But you know what? I type amazon.com first, don't you?
If you want to make money, you might find a higher profit margin in lemonade. If you want to better the internet community and provide a new, unique service that benefits people without a lot of obtrusive b.s. then you'll probably succeed. |

I agree. It's about what you can provide that isn't already provided? or if you can provide it in a new way. You can't just say, "well it works here, so I should be able to do the same thing". Why would I leave here and go to your site when I can get the same thing here?
This site gets lots of visitors b/c it has thousands of old posts. It didn't happen overnight. When the developers reworked the URLs to be more search engine friendly, visitor count sky-rocketed. This community is good b/c there are enough people here to provide decent replies almost 24/7. And I have to say that the mods are pretty active too, not only in performing their duties, but in replying to messages. But, there's always porn ![]() medialint Welcome aboard.

Aw, you beat me to it. But even in porn you have to have an angle. The market is saturated and if you're not offering something new, or something old in a new way, you won't be noticed. |

I didn't mean that in a lewd way, just a general internet business guideline. I did a short stint at a company that ran about 40 porn sites and I have a buddy that worked in the art department at Vivid Video. From this background I can tell you the porn business isn't the fast track to making tons of cash. |
