    Company name question

    Greetings,

I have a question about any issues I could run into in the future if my business name or domain name, is similar to another business or domain. My original idea was to do "bong bay" as my business idea. So i registered thebongbay.com and bong-bay.com. After doing some research I found a below par 1 PR site bongsbay.com. If my business takes off can they attack me at a later time?

    thank you for your insight

    cheers,

    brandon

Do a trademark search (I'm not coming up with anything).

Thank you for your reply. Is this something that happens often on the internet, or am i to be shund because someone had a similar name? Also which one would you choose to use, thebongbay.com or bong-bay.com ? I'm not sure which would be most effective, and maybe you guys have some theories?

I think it's better without the hyphens. You don't want to lose traffic because people are forgetting you have hyphens. Just a thought.

I think instead of using "the" you may use a hyphen.
