Question What's a good flat rate for small static sites?

Title pretty much says it all. I'm starting off as a freelancer and a development company wants to start me off with a small 5-6 page static website just to see what I can do. They want to know how much I will charge.

I don't want any formulas for how to calculate the price I should charge. I don't know how long it will take me to build a site, or how much business I'm liable to get in the course of a year. Like I said, I'm just starting off.

I just want to know what prices you all charge for similar work.

    Thanks!

Would depend a lot on what was required for the site.

ie graphics, layout, external links, etc

You don't want to know the absolutely essential information you'll need to know to succeed as a freelancer? Good luck. I charge my clients somewhere between $10.00 US and $4800.00 US depending.
