a good c++ book and free compiler?
Well, I've decided I'm going to launch into some traditional programming languages. I've tried Microsoft's products before, but have gotten discouraged because they make even the simplest tasks complicated.
Does anyone recommend a good C++ book that goes from the basics but still includes all the advanced material? (probably 1000+ plus pages or so) Also, what should I use for a compiler? I would prefer something open-source. Thanks, Jeremiah |

So do these compilers create programs with windows interfaces, or are the interfaces DOS? |
