a simple way to clock transfer rates?
how can i clock the transfer rate that my program is transmitting/recieving files? Are there some library functions or something that's easy? I couldnt' find anything googling.

The easiest way would be to note the time before transfer starts, then note down the time after the operation occurs, and compute the transfer rate that way.
