Can I Write Windows Programs With GNU Compiler?

I have got a copy of the GNU compiler (by DJGPP). The package includes the RHIDE IDE. Right now I can work it in the DOS environment. It works real good.

I have been learning PHP and MySQL. But now I'm wanting to start learning a little bit more about C/C++.

I've got a couple of questions. First, Can I write Windows programs using the DJGPP compiler. And second, if I can write Windows programs, does anyone have any suggestions about how or in what direction(s) I might proceed?

Thanking you in advance.
