Does MPI distribute threads?

Hi, everyone -

I'm evaluating ways to build a linux cluster, and I'm looking for a technology that will distribute threads accross processors as well as processes. For example, I want to build an app that starts a couple of processes on each node and then distributes the threads according to available resources.

Is this possible with MPI?

Thank you!

Bret
