Question with GCC compiler
I have to be a complete idiot to miss this but can somebody give me a direct link to what the heck i have to download on the http://gcc.gnu.org/ site to get the compiler for Win32 systems? I looked and I looked and I simply cant find the file to download.
I downloaded ftp://mirrors.laffeycomputer.com/pu...++-3.0.4.tar.gz that but after I decompressed it, it looks like I would have to compile it myself. Did I miss something? I'm on a Win98 system and all I want is a free compiler! Right now I am using Dev-C++.

I think you have to download Cygwin, and gcc is included in that.

You didn't get the gcc compiler when you downloaded cygwin? You might want to go back and run the setup again and go through each section in the downloader and make sure that the compiler is selected. It is a part of the environment, as is perl, postgresql, vim and numerous other programs/utilities.
