if nobody buys it, it'll go away. but of course people will buy it. or maybe they won't? who knows. it's like a human-race intelligence test.
i made a point related to this on another board a little while ago - it started off asking, will it get to the point to where it's better not to upgrade your computer, as upgrading it will result in some features going backwards? i think there is going to be a batch of computers released at a particular time that'll remain valuable and therefore be highly sort after - the most powerfull retail computers that don't have built in restrictions.
