Would someone recommend the book of Prata C Primer Plus?

I have zero experience in all languages out there. I would like to learn C for now. I am doing this on my own, and don't have a clue. I am doing this using my only computer I have which is a Windows 7 desktop 32-bit (x86) PC. Would someone recommend reading a beginner book something like Prata C Primer Plus? Or would someone recommend reading a different beginner book? The compiler I would like to use and setup would be the GUI of MinGW using Code::Blocks. I wouldn't mind using a command line, but I don't know any commands to save my life. I'm sorry, but its true!

Thank you for any advice,

Go to amazon and check the reviews of the book. While your at Amazon you could also check out

The C Programming Language by Kernighan & Ritichie.

Elsewhere and here as well

But then again, you've been showing up every couple of years or so to ask basically the same questions.

Personally, I would suggest you start with something simpler, like Python.
You might actually get to a point where you get the "buzz" of making something useful to work.

Because it takes a long time to get to the point where you can do something useful in C, and it seems you always give up and come back for another go a year or two later.

I'm pretty new at C also, but I did have experience elsewhere. Python would be a great place to start, but if you have your heart set on C the book I used, while a little out dated, is The C Programming Language, by Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Richie, the writers of the actual C language.
