Advertising Rotator Problem
I have an advertising application that I wrote a while ago. It selects a random record from a database based on a numeric ID. Could anybody explain to me how I could use a percentage or ratio to select a record from the database.
What I mean by this is, that when an advert record has a percentage value of 100%, it shows 10x more times than a record with a 10% value. However, I need all the 10% values to show an equal number of times.
If anyone can explain how this would be done, i'd be really grateful, thanks.
