Coldfusion 7 has been running effortlessly since its release on my company network. When I came in this morning I had a few issues with the server not running properly but eventually got it up and running.
However, Coldfusion has stopped working returning an Error 500 when and cfm page is requested. I have checked Apache and Coldfusion services and everything is fine. Statis HTML is served no problem. PHP is running. And JSP functiones so there musn't be a problem with JRUN. I have checked various Event Logs and Server Logs and can find no information as to why Coldfusion is not working. Any ideas? |

Unfortunately, no...there's just not enough information to diagnose the problem. It could be just about anything (web server connector isn't working, JRE problems, bad JRE arguments, corrupt files, etc.). If you can't get it working you might want to try reinstalling. You can also try the Macromedia forums or if you are in dire need you can open a support incident with Macromedia. I would think that the real problem was caused by whatever was wrong with the server or whatever you had to do to get the server itself working again.

Although you didn't offer nearly as much information as would be needed to try to help you, I can offer you my problem on the offchance you or someone else is familiar with it:
I run CFMX7 now, but when I was running CFMX6, my server would do close to the same thing. It would happen when a Verity <cfindex> action was executed, and it would happen every time. if I wated a few minutes, all the services would be fine, and Verity would in fact index the queries. But it was so damn annoying, and my visitors would complain. I went as far as uninstalling CFMX6 completely and reinstalling (with JRUN, of course) from scratch. Same problem. Anyway, does this sound familiar at all? I've wondered if anyone else ever had this problem (on Windows 2003). No bugs filed with Macromedia. Anyway, there's my two cents. Hope it wasn't a waste of time... |
