CFMX / Apache 1.3 / Win XP
I'm unclear which CFMX installation I need for Apache. When I followed the instructions here:
Macromedia LiveDocs The default CF installation failed to configure properly on Apache. c:\cfusionmx\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1\mod_jrun.so wasn't created when I ran the command to install the connector. Naturally, when I edited apache's httpd.conf, pointing it to the file, Apache wouldn't cycle because the file is missing. Do I need to install on top of JRun? Thanks in advance, Mike Britton

From the link it looks like you're looking at the Livedocs for ColdFusion 6, not 6.1. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but it very well could. This is of course assuming that you are installing 6.1.

Already tried this
I clicked 'contents' in the same livedocs and went to
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/cold...cs/config14.htm I followed this procedure exactly, and it failed for both standard and JRun versions of CFMX 6.1. There's something I'm not doing right. I don't know if it's the install, or the Apache configuration part. Mike |

I believe Macromedia offers free installation support if you need it. Try http://www.macromedia.com/support/c...stallation.html to send them an email. If I find any other info on setting up CFMX with Apache I'll post it.

Judging by this technote:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/j...tor_rebuild.htm ..The JRun4 installation option can be configured correctly, not the default installation. However, in this technotes (below it) http://www.macromedia.com/support/c...tall_apache.htm It says: 'the installer is able to correctly configure Apache 2.0.43 through 2.0.47 (latest Apache version as of 8/5/03).'. This could be the source of the problem. I'll install Apache 2 instead of 1.3x (what I'm using now) and try again. |
