I am new to server side languages and am a little confused.

In Cold Fusion, do you type in the syntax in a HTML editor like Dreamweaver and upload it to a server that has the Cold Fusion software installed, or is there a separate application/program that you use on you local machine? Also, anyone know of any tutorials that get you started with CF? Thanks, Dynasty |

You can write CFML with any text editor like notepad, Homesite, or Dreamweaver. You upload the script file to a web server that has the ColdFusion server installed on it. Then you call the script file (with a .cfm extension) just as you would any other file. It's the same with PHP or ASP/ASP.NET.
There are literally hundreds of different articles and tutorials on the web. Look at Macromedia.com or Builder.com for starters. There are numerous books on the subject as well. |

Yes there is a software called Cold Fusion Studio for this purpose but you can also use Dreamweaver MX to create .cfm files on your local computer
