Image Component CFTAG
I recently was told by my server that ImageMagicK Tag was no longer suppoerted and was asked to convert to Image Component and to my surprise it brutally increases the size of the thumbnail. View this link and see what I am talking about. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You could look at the Alagad Image Component.
http://www.alagad.com/index.cfm/name-aic Or you might look into calling the Java Advanced Image API classes.

I am using Alagad's Image Component - that is the tag I am having issues with. I have contacted Alagad and they stated that they were aware of this issue (file size) and that a fix would be availble soon. How long that is only God knows.
Will this Java work with ColdFusion and if so, do you possible have any examples of code that uses it. Will the adminstrator have to have java installed on their computer in order to use this feature. Thanks, BlackDawg |

Assuming you are using ColdFusion MX, then you don't need anything else installed. ColdFusion MX IS a J2EE application. Some examples are here: http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx...jai_images.html

A while I wrote an application demonstrating the use of Java Advance Image (JAI) API with CF. It is available on developer exchange. You can search for Java Image there. Let me know if you need any further help.
