Mail server problem
Hi,
I have done a page to process my form data and then generate an email using <cfmail>. I have tested the page on 3 different computers with CF installed and the page has worked each time. When I load the page on to my web hosts server and test the page the page seems to work (ie it displays a success message) but the email is not generated and therefore never arrives. They asure me that they have the mail-server setup for CF and I have sent an email on our mail-server using PHP before. Does anyone have an idea as to why their system is not generating the email? Kind Regards ![]() |

Definitely on their end. If they haven't set up a mail server in the CF administrator, you'll need to define the server, port, user name, password, etc. in the cfmail tag to send the email. And they have to allow mail relay from the CF server on the mail server.

Hi Kiteless, I don't know if they have fixed the problem on their end or what, but as soon as I put the server, port, user name, password, etc into the <cfmail> tag hey presto it worked .Much appreciated Kiteless ![]() |
