Rich Flash Forms (Version 7.0)
Just starting to have a look at CF 7. When I first read about the ease of development and the look of Flash Forms in CF7 I was pretty excited. Having had some experience designing a system that makes use of lots of different forms I was looking forward to speeding and easing the development time.
That was, until I actually started seeing how long it takes CF to compile the CFML and produce a Flash movie. It seems usable for a site with a single form which a user will happily wait around 5 - 10 seconds for but for example in a company's internal sales order processing or warehouse stock control it strikes me as just way too long.
I read a few notes on Macromedia website about improving speed and cacheing etc but there is not much information. Has anybody else had similar experiences? Is there something I am missing to optimise the process?
