Upgrading from ColdFusion MX 6.1 to MX 7

I am trying to upgrade from ColdFusion MX 6.1 to MX 7. However I have not been able to do so because the new version won't detect the previous one; thus, now I have two different versions running on my machine. How do I fix this problem?
Regards,
Machito

Have you tried just removing the earlier version?

Also, are you installing in standalone mode or J2EE mode? That may make a difference. You probably need to make sure you pick the same install option for CFMX 7 that you used for 6.1.
