What makes tagbased lang...
Hi all,
I'm writing a tagbased web publishing language/system and was just intested as to what you think makes a good tagbased language, what features would you be interested in seeing and which wouldn't you like/use. Is speed very important or less so, obviously new tags would need to be easy to create. Plans for multiple languages (for extending the system i.e writing new custom tags) like ASP would be interesting but undesided on yet. Anyway let me know what you think. Thanks alot, Mark. |

Out of curiosity, what are you using as the base language for this? C?
Just curious... sounds like an interesting project ![]()

Hi dr,
I actually put this project on hold out of lack of interest so, it's on a bit of a back burner for the time being, I replaced this project with two Python project. One of which you can read about on this thread.. The other is a API layer btween FreeBSD's getmail and Nod32 anti virus software. I was considering perl, users who know this very popular language could extend and add tags to the tag-libary themselves. Also the project required for strong text handeling and web based functions, of which perl has many.. yes i considered Java although Python, PHP, and C/C++ were also considered. The two finalists being Perl and Python. Thanks for the responce. Mark. |
