500Kbs modem is not running at 500Kbs?
Hi there,


I just got BT Broadband installed a few days ago, and don't get me wrong it is very fast compaired to 56k modem.
But the BT Broadband is 500kbps, but I can never seem to get over 50kbps speed??

Yea 50kbps is fast but I paid for 500 not 50.
If someone could please tell me why this is it would be a great help.

are you getting mixed up with Kbps or KBps?

I have BT Broadband in the UK with their standard 500 service and mine is currently at 576.0Kbps.

Try using the ZDNet (cant find link) broadband speed checker and posting the results back here...
