A computing challenge
I need to mirror a hard drive on an old machine but all I have to do it is a parallel lead. Is it possible to do it this way?

I have no clue of how to answer your question, but maybe you would find somebody who did if you put in a more descriptive subject.

If you have Symantic Ghost you can transfer the drive image using a parallel cable:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...=&osv=&osv_lvl= If you just want to copy some files and folders over a parallel cable use: How to Configure a Direct Cable Connection with Windows XP Home Edition http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=814981 How to Create a Direct Cable Connection XP Pro http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...ng/cablecon.asp good luck, Tom |

AAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHH
I've managed to create a connection with the tools included with each OS - Windows 2000 machine is the host and Win XP home is the user. The user has connected successfully.
Now, how the Hell to I copy files from the Win 2000 machine using the XP Home machine? I can see no way to access the Win 2000 machine. ![]() |

Ok I found out you can't share files between two PCs this way. I now need to allow the PC connecting to my Laptop to connect to the internet THROUGH my laptop. Is this possible?
