Adaptec 1210sa SATA Raid Controller
I have a new Dell PowerEdge 750 @ 2.8 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 800 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache, all with (2) 250 GB SATA drives.
I've recently bought an Adaptec 1210sa SATA Raid Controller and following the directions, I've attached the card into either PCI slot, and though the motherboard recognizes the card, whether I have an Windows Server 2003 or not, it won't let me go any further. With the O/S, it'll boot to "Press F1 to continue, or F2 to Setup." If I hit F1, the blue screen of death flashes quickly, then automatically reboots. If I hit F2, of course it goes into Setup which does me no good, and promptly brings me back to the same message. Any thoughts as to how I can make this work? Thanks |

(^^;?(We find similar questions recently about Raid.)
I don't know how you set the card and for what purpose. But roughly speaking, if you boot by Win98bootdisk and fdisk and it is recognized as 1 drive. You can say it is successful. Then you are supposed to have new 1 HDD and your PC configuration was changed. Your former OS is not configured for this configuration. At least this OS shouldn't recognize it as same HDD now. When you put a HDD with OS into another PC and it works well, you are called lucky. But we must repair OS usually at least. Perhaps it could find boot record but no more. 2003 as well as XP are supposed to reboot upon critical errors by default setting. |
