Angry Beep Beep , hepl pls

My pc started giving beep warnings while playing games. Its one short beep which i know is a sign of " refresh failure".Now,my Gigabyte motherboard ( 8iPE1000G ) Users manual says that this is a fatal error but doesn't quite say how to fix it. If I restart the pc, it fixes itself for a while and then starts over. What should i do. help Pls.

If it says "fatal", it must be hardware, and if it doesn't say how to fix, it can't specify it.

Then introduce some memory test and hardware monitor apt for your board.

Are you overclocking? Maybe overheating?

No, Actually i am not over clocking. Its P IV 2.8 GHz. Heat might be a problem. In my Bois (Award Bios) CPU temp shown is always somewhere between 60 - 70 C. But if i touch the fan or the CPU directly, It doesn't feel that hot. I can touch the CPU with getting my finger burn. So i don't think it can be 70 C. Second, when i asked a computer mechanic abt this prob( Abt the CPU Temp). he said some times BIOS may "Lie". Now, is that possible? I am still getting thiese beeps. Nothing happens , but it just beeps. Which memory test or hardware check software do u guys reccomend? Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi! I don't think bios is lying, but that monitor chip is not working correctly is thinkable. As for hardware monitor, it is important to match your monitor chip. Then you cannot but specify the chip on your board or Gigabyte data sheet. You can use any generic ones, somewhat unreliable but can detect changes.

Temprature in bios has to differ from one in windows, moreover in gaming which use most of the resource. Take a look at Taskmanager for CPU Usage when gaming. I think memtest is not so different, use anything you like.

You may clock down the CPU to check the behaviour.
