bootup beep codes or keys pressed

I'm working on a toshiba satellite 1905 that had water spilled on it. After taking it appart and letting it dry, it gives a series of beeps during POST. I can't be sure if it is beep codes reporting errors or something screwed up with the keyboard. The beeps stop after a minute or so, so I'm leaning toward keyboard errors. I am able to get into the bios and even get the system to boot. I do not have another keyboard to try. Am I on the right track? Any other suggestions?

Shawn

Ordinarily bios displaly "keyboard error", if it's so. Is there no errors displayed?

Surely I suppose it may be keyboard errors too, to dry it only may be not enough. At least you should check the doubtful keys and try to clean them.

There is no screen indication of what the beeps mean. But the system finishes POST anyway.

Another thing I've noticed: if I press ESC the beeps stop after a few moments.

Unfortunately, I can't determine which may be the offending keys, I'd have to clean the entire board. If I can't find a replacement in the next few days I may have to.

(Probably some keys remain contacted.)

Though you can get standard used keyboard at 1$ or so, if you want to use it as laptop, you cannot but clean them.

Be careful especially when the keyboard take off, the flexible cable may be easily broken, you must elevate it calmly and plug it out skilfully. If possible, you'd better do it after practising upon another junk laptop if you have no experience.
