    How do I change the brightness of the screen on my laptop? I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro...

    (^^;?(Generally speaking of laptops,..)

    When there are no likely buttons or slides, you're supposed to use Fn key + some marked key.

    What's wrong with the brightness tho? Is it so dark you cant even see the screen? If it is your backlight is probably dead...

    sounds like the screen is on its way out! you might want to try adjusting the settings of your gfx, that might help. They may have been changed by acciedent.

    Sad to say, it is probably because of the longevity of backlight or in some case the inverter. It is dying. Not only you.

    In fact, older laptop's backlights were likely to break. But in recent ones, backlights are improved and has very long longevity, then if broken, it would be inverters first.

    But if it is just dim, the backlight is likely. For the moment, use any auxiliary light and see how the thing goes. It is far better than going straight to complete white, black or reddish as in typical cases.
