Buying "widescreen" LCD
soon im planning to ditch my old monitor that takes up half my desk for one of those LCD things. I also want to get the kind that are like widescreen or whatever (for more desktop space and stuff)
my concern is that I also play video games on my computer from time to time. And not all games support widescreen monitors, my friend who has a widescreen says if the game doesn't support widescreen resolutions the screen will be stretched (resulting in everyone in the game getting fatter than usual). is there like a driver or plugin or something that people use to prevent this (keep the game from stretching out of proportion when it isn't desired). The only time the widescreen thing will work to my advantage is when im actually doing work and have lot's of stuff open. btw my card is a radeon pci-expression if that matters

Not really that much of a gamer myself, but you can get most of the current games to work in widescreen mode, but they require a bit of tuning to get them to work !
However, check out a site called Widescreen Gaming which also has a list of games and what it takes to get them to work in widescreen mode and that can be found on the Master Games List. Have a look, might help you out. ![]()

You could just get an lcd HD tv and then use the 4:3 mode for non wide screen games.
