CD drive doesn't play or burn videos

When I put a music CD in my computer, it works. But when I put in a CD with video files on it, it doesn't work. I can burn normal music CD's just fine, but I can't burn CD's with video files on it. Oddly, I can burn CD's with MP3's on it, but I can't play it in the same computer. Before when this happened, I disabled or uninstalled the CD drive, then immediately enabled or reinstalled it, and it worked. It doesn't work when I do that now. I tried the Windows XP troubleshooter and it said it couldn't help me. Anyone who can, however, will be greatly appreciated.

Hey,
Why did you un-install the CD Drive? was it an error?

I disabled/uninstalled it because I was told it might work once I reenabled/reinstalled it, and it did that first time. But now when I disable/uninstall it, it still doesn't work when I reenable/reinstall it.

Some CD-R medias have problems. If you can see the files on it, once copy it to HDD, make sure that you can deal with MPEG data correctly and burn it again to other kinds of media.

Also some medias advocate them especially for music, though I don't make sure of its effectivity or its compatibility.

P.S. It is reported that if music and video are on the same CD, either of which is not recognized by XP, but possible only if associated with Mediaplayer.
