CD or DVD Won't work together
I have just started to get this problem and I can't trace the route?

I have a CD RW Drive and a DVD Burner. Recently when I put a new disk in either one it showed the disk as empty and ready to use. Now suddenly neither will read a disk.

If I right click the drive and choose Properties and Enable recording then the disk works again (hey Presto) but if I right click the second device and do the same it disables the previous device and so on and so on.

Damn Frustrating. I am using XP and Nero 6 and as far as I can remember this was fine a few days back but I can't find anything I did that may have changed? and system restore doesn't seem to work either?

Any Advice appreciated

Try opening up the computer and wiggling the ribbon cables, and also make sure the master/slave jumpers are securely in place. If either is loose, you might get weird behavior.
