Changing Mobo, cpu, ram. Please help

Im switching my Asus A7N266 to an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe. Im also switching a Athlon 1800+ xp to a Athlon 2800+ Barton xp. Im also changing from 256 ram to 512. This is all on the same comp (hdd, etc) ... do I have to do anything before I switch them? Will I lose any files, etc? Thanks

You shouldn't have problems, but you might have to reinstall or at least repair windows. Always back up anything you might need before changing things in your computer, even if you're sure you don't need to.

If everything works fine but you get some strange crashes now and then, you might have some IRQ configuration type conflicts that will be fixed if you repair or reinstall Windows as Karsh said.
