Computer makes strange beep, doesn't fully boot
Last night my computer was working perfectly fine. Today when I try to turn it on, it makes a strange bootup beep (one long beep followed by two short ones) and the monitor doesn't engage properly (it remains blinking instead of having a steady LED, keeps a black screen). I've had this computer for about 2 1/2 years (built it myself) but don't know what's wrong...
Any ideas?

The beeps are a code. It should say in your motherboard manual or on the manufacturer's site what they mean, which should tell you where teh problem is.

I looked up that code and, for an Award BIOS, it says, it means a video problem. That makes sense. Try another video card.
