    Computers without hardrives?

    Looking for opinions.

Does anyone think the day will ever come? My thought is, 'why can't you have 40GB of memory, and no hard drive?' No copying of files to memory for use. Wouldn't that be nice? I think computers would be so much faster!

Won't happen. RAM is fundamentally different that a hard drive. It loses its data when the power is off, so you wouldnt want to use it as your hard drive. Its faster because its solid state, w/o moving parts, but it is not suited for use as a hdd.
Flash memory would work, but it is so much more expensive than a hard drive that its not practical, as well as being limited in capacity compared to a hdd.
