Cpu wont start.... no post beep

Hey, New member.. adn haveing a problem!!! my comp wont start... all started when.... i let my dad use my processor to test a mobo...(mb) i know bad idea... he was haveing and is haveing the problem i am now... i get it to start! than in less than a minute its dead again .. no beeps. well one lil one but not any regular post beeps or anything tried!!!!(ohh the anger) Tried starting blind.. no luck ... tried flashing my bios... again no luck... flashed Cmos.. no luck ... reseated ram.. adn tried another kind (sd) no luck there is power to (MB) because fans work... ... PLEASE HELP!!!

you need to test it with a known good cpu. You may have smoked the other one.

I think your dad's mobo was ill shorted and damaged your CPU, then you have no post naturally. That may be it?

Update

I cleaned the Cpu off of all the silicone or thermal paste .. and it starts and runs... still no beeps and no video!

Post your system specs, and describe exactly what happens and what you have tried. Can you try the problem cpu in a known working mobo, and/or a known working cpu in the problem mobo?

specs

amd 2600+ xp processor amptron mother board... radeon 9200 se plus 40 gig hard drive... solutions ive tried... in a word everything to reseting the cmos and bios to booting blind! trying diff video and even a different type of card still no luck reseating and trying all all connections and ram also tried the sd ram insted of ddr.. i get an intial beep than nothign else no video everything was wokring great, perfectly last week!

Please advise

Wait, you do get a POST beep? So the problem might be the video, rather than the cpu. You say you've tried other video cards though, both pci and agp (you're sure you don't have onboard video)? You're sure the cards you've tried are good, and work in other computers? Have you tried another monitor? The computer stopped working suddenly, or did something happen (lightning storm, moved computer, installed something...)
