Do I need a router AND modem or will the router suffice?
I will soon be moving in with my girlfriend and I'm looking at buying this router, but I'm confused as to whether I also need a modem. I have searched for the answer and it seems to be that yes, I also need a modem. But my girlfriend doesn't have one and she is connecting the cable from the wall straight into her computer right now. So shouldn't I be able to just plug that same cable into the router instead? Why should I need a modem?
