Do I need a specific PSU for SLI
Hello, well I am building a new comp and using nvidias SLI technology, what i wanted to know is that if I needed a special PSU to run the pci express cards, or can I use a regular psu.

I don't think so, but as you are building a gaming system get a good one- nothing cheap. Get one that gives adequete wattage (most likely 500) and that comes with 3 years warranty - the price range you will be looking at is about £50+ - something like a hiperpower or a Tagan.

No, you won't need a 'special' one. But I agree with profftnt, best to go for one with a good wattage.

(^^;?(SLI seems to need additional 6 pin for 2 PCI Express cards.)
Then, Standard PSU + Converter Cable (or the skill to take out 6 pins) = SLI supported PSU It is likely to depend upon prices in the end. |

Yes, they do need an etra 6pin, but most of the "good" ones come with the pci express support, for example tale the 480W Tagan 2Force Ultra Quiet it comes with 2* pci express connectors and retails at £90. But the Thermaltake 660w will do the pci-express.
