Problem with my Compaq desktop today. When I power up the comp the fan to the power supply comes on as well as the fan that cools the cpu. It stays on for about 5 seconds then everything shuts down. I replaced the power supply and it does the same thing. I remove the memory and power up and the fans stay on but with no memory nothing else really happens. I tried putting one of the 256 mem in slot by themselves get same result with power shutting down after about 5 seconds. Any ideas on this one?

CPU is suspected. No video? No floppy is read? No clock up?
