Personally, Id go for ATI, seing as they are the best out at the moment. Im not sure how much a the cost is to where ever you are, seing as Im in Australia. Id go for a ATI Radeon 9600XT, or if your a nVidia type of person, I think the equal is nVidia Geforce FX5200 / FX5600. A card around that mark should do the job, Far Cry will automaticlly ajust settings for best performance based upon your system specifications, but you can change them if you want.

PS: Seings as Far Cry's Game Engine cn make even the highest end systems lag a bit, maybe you should wait for prices to drop and grab a FX6800 when the time is right, as a upgrade for the card I reccomended! Perhaps in the near future the will pack Far Cry with Graphics Cards, like in the past (eg. Half-Life 2). Just a suggestion!

Nic

got a 9800 in my rig, it runs is awesome. I'd recommend that, but its still like in the $200 range. I'd get the 9600XT, which can be had for under$150
