Firewire socket problem with external hard drive

I have a four-month old LaCie External Big Drive with two Firewire 800, one USB 2.0, and one Firewire 400 interface. I have been using the Firewire 400 connector to connect with my Powerbook G4. Recently, it started to disconnect itself in the middle of a video work in Final Cut Pro.

The firewire cable works fine with other external hard drives. I tried also other two firewire cables, all of them looks like working fine when pushed firmly in the Firewire 400/6 pin socket, but they get loose and the drive disconnects after you leave the cable, either immediately or after a while. (This is a hot-pluggable socket with immediate device recognition. There is no separate power on/off switch, it turns on as soon as the firewire cable is plugged in).

It disconnected one time during a DVD burning process and wasted one DVD. So far, I haven't lost any data luckily, but could happen anytime. I am going to call LaCie technical support tomorrow, but I was wondering if anybody have had similar problems and knows a solution. I couldn't find any previous post on this forum related with this problem.
