hard drive question

Ive a really old machine with a hard drive thats just packed in.

Spec:

Pentium 133
64mb ram
1gig hd (thats just died)

Im a linux newbie and want to run redhat on it Was just in the process of installing it when the damn thing packed in and started clunking!! I could probably do with a new hd anyway as 1ghz is just TOO small! The thing im curious about tho is compatibility How large can i go considering the age of my machine and is this upgrade likely to be expensive?

Thanks in advance

cuban

Still have your motherboard manual? How about going to it's website. Buying a 10GB runs maybe $30 (check out www.pricewatch.com).

Either way just go get a new computer, it would be a lot more fun.
