harddrive problme?
ok i think it's a harddrive problem. it's a sata hitachi 7200rpm 8mb 80gb hdd. no matter what o/s i try to install i have the same problem. it's always in the iosubsys folder in windows. no matter if it's 95, 98se, 98, or xp home.

No idea what you're talking about. You always need to give detail in your questions.

sorry.bad mood with this computer.
alright.when i first got my hdd in i tried installing 98se. it locked up at instaling new hardware so i turned it off and back on. it then started loading windows and after about 3 minutes at the WINDOWS 98 screen it says something about IOS driver failed to load. either the IOSUBSYS folder is damaged or you are low on ram. i then checked my ram using memtest...no erroes.so i decided to format the hdd and try using a different o/s.i then used just plain 98.locked up at the same point.same error. so i formatted AGAIN and tried 95.locked up at installing hardware.so of course i turn it off and back on. it then says while initializing device IOS: windows protection error.you need to restart your computer.so i did.the same error came up. i then updated bios.and then turned off everything i didn't need (usb, raid, etc.) i then formatted the harddrive and tried installing a friends oem version of windows xp home.it locks up and i get the same error. what can be wrong with this computer? ![]() |

If you've cleared CMOS and such with no effect, google for that error message, there are many possible problems and solutions. Or you may have damaged hardware (drive or mobo probably)

i sent back the hdd because there was ALOT of bad sectors right off the bat (had to plug into different computer to get it to work.) and i'm just gonna go for a ide hdd wiith more storage.also the motherboard turned out to be bad because both ide slots were gone.
