Help! New computer won't boot up!!
Ok, so I just bought the fiance a new computer last week and all of a sudden last night it wouldn't boot up.
First off, the machine is an eMachines T3065 with an Athlon XP 3000+, 512 MB RAM, 160 GB HD, and running Windows XP. It was recently on sale at Best Buy at a low price. Anyway, when I go to start it up, the hard drive and the CD drives spin and then nothing else happens. The screen displays the eMachines logo screen (with just the "e") but that's it. I can't get into the Bios menu or anything. It just sits there. Normally when it is booting, it gives the audible post "beep" but it does not happen when I try to power it on now. The computer is only 4 days old and I have not added any hardware or even opened up the case for any reason. I have also not installed any abnormal software on there. Does anyone have any advice? I'm out of ideas. |

Hmmm ... take it back to Best Buy and tell them it's broke? |

Ditto what medialint said. Bring it back for trade or refund. I wouldn't even bother with more work unless you have trouble getting them to take it back.

You could try booting to the restore disk. Run that if it works.
