Help setting up game server

I dont know were to post this so I chose computer hardware.
Is there a way to setup a Battlefeild 1942 server that is not hosting from my IP adress with a free/cheap solution. I have a small website. Is it posible to host it there?

I have hosted a game on my computer at home, its nothing special just a 2.6 ghz 1 gig ram and could support up to 100 connected at a time on a MMORPG. But you have to have the server files in order to host it, the server files for my game were released allow people to make their own servers. I dont know about battlefeld game but it is possible to set a server up from home, if you wanted rent a server it would cost loads. best thing would be buy a comuter hook it up to the net and use that computer purly for running the games server

If you're using your home connection, you'll be using your home ip (or at least what shows through your firewall).

Most smart asses who would 'try' to hack your PC, wont know how to hack into Linux. Install Linux as a dual OS boot, convert all the files over to Linux (it has a built in emulator for that - I think its called Whine) and run a DC (Dedicated Server) then sit back, and watch them TRY and break inot your PC, hehehehehehe!
