help with computer..
specs:
Amd Athlon XP 2400+ 768MB Corsair Ram 80GB Hitachi SATA Hardrive Abit NF7-S2 450 watt powmax psu 128mb ati 9600pro here's my problem.i also thank in advance whoever helps me. i just replaced my hdd. i plugged the hitachi into my mobo and it starts up.it said boot disk error so i insert a floppy.it then locks up at verifying dmi pool data screen.and now nothing comes up on my monitor.just a stupid screen with adjustable settings. |

You have a brand new BIOS so configure your BIOS.

ive set the optimized defaults and then set the video and enabled the onboard sata and it still wont go past veryfing dmi pool date

Have you put the old hdd back in to verify that it still works? If it does, it suggests that the hitachi might be the problem. If its new, return it for a different one.

the old harddrive ended up dying.it wouldnt work in any computer.so i sent it back and decided to buy a new one....for some reason i have a feeling its the mobo

I would still try another drive first. This is your new computer though, right? So it shouldn't be too hard to return any parts that you may suspect.

also the screen in monitor settings.like width heighth.and brightness.ive had that problem when i installed a video card without uninstallinga previous cards drivers.but this is a complete NEW format.nothing has even been tried to put on it. |

im gonna try putting in a different video card....maybe that will fix the stupid video problem....ill post and tell you what happens.
damnit.i tried a s3 3d stealth 2000 i had laying around and the screen is the same.do you guys think it could be the motherboard? |

Possible! Bios may be corrupted. But someone who says so is nothing but Bios.

i believe its still under warranty.i ordered it from newegg.i think i may overnight it there and have them send it back overnight even if i have to pay extra.
