I have a HFS (mac) formatted external Hard Drive.
I need to wipe it clean and format it to NTFS.
Anyone know where to start?
When I right click on it in Disk Management I don't have the option to delete the HFS partition.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Use Bootable operating system CD. Insert this CD then boot from CD. After this format your NTFS derive and change drive format according your need.

I have used both Easeus Partition Master Home Edition and Partition Wizard Home Edition and they both seemed to be fairly robust and stable.

Drive setting is done with the help of bootable CD. You need to insert bootable CD and reset the drive a NTFS file system.

Rightclick on the drive and now choose Format. In the file system drop down you'll see the NTFS format option with this option you can format your drive

If there is no any important data, then you must delete all the partitions using Windows xp boot-able disk...
then you can make new partitions as many you required...then install operating system on C: and run your PC..
And if you dont want to do so, you can use Hirens boo CD, boot your system using this CD, and select Any Partition utility to to delete , configure partition on your Hard Drive..

How to format NTFS drive?

As you told that ,You have Windows XP installed on the C partition? Do you have critical data on the C partition as well? Do you have critical data on the other partitions? Do you want to have four partitions when you're done or only one? Is it your intent to remove Windows XP in the process of formating the C partition?
you want to wipe the C partition and have absolutely no operating system and then restart from scratch, all you have to do is boot from your WinXP CD and during the installation process format the C partition. If you're wanting to format the C partition while leaving Windows XP on it, I'm not aware of any way of doing that. Formating=erasing everything on it.
