I can't watch DVDs

Does anyone have any idea why i can't watch DVDs on my computer? Everytime a DVD goes to play the software it is playing in crashes. Of course it doesn't tell me WHY it crashes or anything important. I've tried different DVD player software, I've tried different DVD drives, I've formatted and reinstalled everything, I updated all drivers and I still can't watch DVDs.

Maybe there is a hardware conflict, I'm not sure. Here are my specs:

SOYO Dragon 2 Platinum Edition MB
Pentium 4 Processor 3.0Ghz 800Mhz FSB
Corsair TWINX Dual Channel DDR PC3200 400Mhz
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
3COM PCI 56K Winmodem
WD 120GB HD
TEAC 8x DVD+R
BENQ 16X DVD-ROM

Does anyone know if any of this stuff has compatibility issues? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

it seems you have 2 devices that will play dvd's. pick one, (i'd say the teac) and take the other off line (remove power and ide) make teac master, uninstall all dvd software and then reinstall the teac software (with decoder). see what happens.

thanks for the advice. unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. i had to dig up my ATI cd that came with the gfx card. on it they had a dvd player and a dvd decoder, i installed both, and am now able to watch dvds in the ATI DVD player, didn't help the WinDVD however, it still crashes. (but at least i can watch dvds )

There are problems with Windvd if your system drive is not C: if you goto there website you can request a fix file, just let them know what your system drive is
