KDS monitor won't work with XP??

I just bought a computer with XP on it. I attached my KDS Visual Sensations monitor, which I used for three years. It shows an image of the OS loading, then goes blank. It shows the signal to the monitor has dropped.

I was about to take the computer back, when I remembered this happened once before. I tried running a computer with Win XP with this monitor, and the exact same thing happened.

The problem is Win XP won't let me go in the safe mode... it says I have to "finish installation".

Any ideas? The tech says I'll just have to buy a new monitor. Like hell, this one is pretty new and works fine with other computers, and Window 98.

[Damm, I hate XP. MS should have stopped at Win 2000 and left good enought alone. ]

Perhaps even vga driver of XP cannot supprt your monitor. In addition, oem XP home may be using special dirvers. Otherwise you may be able to install again mutatis mutandis. That is to say, once copy \i386 to HDD and edit $OEM$ or directly run winnt.exe from DOS if possible. In any ways, you must know about Install CD configuration and presently installed drivers. Moreover sometimes W2K drivers works for XP, so that you may replace it.
