Laptop display fault :)
hey all!
Recently my girls laptop decided to break. After research it seems the backlight of the display has gone. You can see faint display of the OS and even when you move it back and forth (tft hindge) it doesnt suddenly come to life. So the back light... I have seen alot of people advertise to repair this, but I want to do it myself, as me and my younger brother are training to be techies, would seem silly not to fiddle. The only problem is where do I get it from!? Ive tried HP but its difficult when I dont know the part number. As much help in this area, as quickly as possible would be great!!! Thanks in advance ![]() |

You could try HP tech support (email or something) to get the correct product number.

In any way, you must take the panel to pieces. It's very difficult to do so without damaging something. I'll advise you that you would buy any junk laptops, experiment, and practice it beforehand.
In addition, if you take out the LCD, you'll find usually different maker's LCD or other parts another's. For example, My Fujitu laptop has Sharp's LCD display. And It is not found until it was taken into pieces. This is often the case due to cost performance. |
