My Toshiba Satellite 1955-S805 will no longer boot, displaying the message, "We apologize for the inconvenience..." I tried using my Retrospect disaster recovery CD which boots, displays that it is inspecting my hardware configuration, then quits. I tried using Toshiba's recovery CD which boots, displays that it is going to reformat the hard disk, then quits at 0 percent. Any suggestions?

Verify your hard drive is properly recognized by the system bios. From a working computer download and burn a bootable CD of some diagnostics and see if you can find the hardware problem.

After replacing the hard drive and getting the same results, I took the unit to Best Buy's Geek Squad for analysis. They determined it was a bad motherboard and not cost effective to repair. |
