Maxtor 250GB external usb2/firewire hard disk: any experiences?
Hi All,
I'm thinking about buying this maxtor 250GB external harddrive Maxtor ext hdd on amazon does anyone have any good/bad experience with it? i'd want to use it under linux (not sure if this question is to the right audience), if anyone knows that it's hard/impossible or wishes to relate their experience, I'd be interested in what anyone has to say. cheers, conejito.

in the end i located a version that had only a usb2.0 interface, which was cheaper, and I purchased that one. so far, i'm extremely impressed with it, and feel i could recommend it.

Just bought mine.
I just purchased the Maxtor 250gb external usb2.0/firewire combination drive and I must say for an external drive its reliability and speed is second to none. Excellent transfer rates and is as accessable as a normal harddrive..plus its slightly more portable!
Having great fun streaming movies and music off it, going to test it with Command and Conquer: Generals later
