Hi Folks,
My PC has 1536MB installed and I want to upgrade to 2GB. According to CPU-Z I have 3 sticks of 512MB: 2 x PC2-6400 plus 1 x PC2-4300. My board is Gigabyte GA-945GMF-S2. What should I do to get the most bang for the money: take out the slow stick and add 2 faster sticks, or just add a new stick of whatever speed? TIA |

Hey recently my friend is on the market upgrading his memory also, he has found a deal on the OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) memory for $30, I recommend you to get them, they are even good for gaming.

Welcome to Dev Shed. I would get rid of the lower end one and replace it with 2 similar to the 6400 ones you have in there. Memory will run at the speed of the slowest stick... |
